Adjustable gas spindle valve for M14 / M1A rifles. This part is inspired by the well-known ShootingSight / Gaard Engineering system, which is difficult to obtain in Europe due to export restrictions.
To solve this, I modified an original Springfield Armory spindle valve to integrate an adjustable gas regulation screw with locking nut.
This system allows precise tuning of the gas flow in order to optimize the rifle’s cycling.
Benefits include:
• Precise gas regulation
• Reduced stress on the operating rod
• Smoother cycling when shooting heavy loads or using a suppressor
• No permanent modification of the rifle
The adjustment is made via an Allen (hex) screw accessible from the front of the spindle valve. This allows precise gas flow tuning using a standard hex key.
Once the correct setting is found, it is secured with the locking nut.
Important: tools are not included with the part.
Adjustment principle:
Start with the screw fully open (maximum gas flow). Fire single rounds and progressively tighten the screw until the bolt locks back reliably on an empty magazine. Once the correct setting is reached, secure the adjustment using the locking nut.
