Sauer 404 Carbon
270 Years Sauer & Sohn Sondern Edition
308 Win.
UVP 13.000
1 von 10
SRN.: 270027
Sauer and Son was founded in 1751 and is therefore considered the oldest German hunting weapons manufacturer. On the occasion of its 270th anniversary, Sauer has now released exclusive special editions in limited quantities.
The two-piece hollow stock of this 404 is made entirely of carbon. The single stock therefore weighs a slim 790 gr.
Additionally, the 52 cm long barrel in .308 Winchester caliber has been 7-fold fluted. This saves on weight and promotes heat dissipation through the increased surface area during larger shot sequences. An M15x1 barrel thread has been installed at the muzzle to allow the use of a suppressor or a muzzle brake.
The aluminum system box was hand-striped and additionally DLC coated. In this process, the surface is vapor-deposited with a diamond-like carbon layer only a few micrometers thick. The coating offers extreme hardness and thus the best corrosion protection. Furthermore, it greatly enhances the sliding properties, giving the weapon an exceptionally smooth trigger pull.
Also, the base of the 3-round magazine is also brushed and DLC coated to match the weapon's design concept. The magazine body is made of steel, while the feeder is made of plastic.
The chamber handle and the bolt are also brushed and DLC coated. Furthermore, the bolt was finished with a sun-polished finish, which further improves the sliding properties for an incomparable bolt action.
